It's my favorite holiday!

Halloween is my absolute favorite!!
I have multiple pairs of Halloween socks that I wear throughout the year..
Even during Christmas. My favorite ones are my Queen of Halloween ones.
They're striped. I also have some bad ass Betsey Johnson thigh high ones too.
This weekend I wore them all!... and it was appropriate.
I know.. I'm a dork.. and 3 years old.

This weekend was great.
I got a Halloween care package my momma.. filled with socks..
and some candy corn slippies with jack o lantern grips!

Then I left for Long Island for some Halloween festivities.
One of my besties from college and I ate candy corn, watched
Nightmare on Elm St. and made our costumes for the big bash on Saturday night.
I think we looked great! She was Poison Ivy from Batman and I was
Patch from 101 Dalmatians.

The greatness of my costume was in the details.
My dog tag had my name, address and rabies vaccination tag.
My handbag was a box of Kanine Krunchies.

Happy Halloween!!

The Man Post: General Rules

Finally someone gets it.

And by "gets it" I really mean, what kind of anal retentive control freak wrote this...
or do you think the whole restaurant staff sat down together and collaborated
on a wish list of "General Rules." I like to think it was a group of people
consisting of an old person, a middle-aged mom, a buzz kill (ie the first two people)
and a bitter virgin.

This happened a few weeks ago..
and I really don't know how or why I didn't post this sooner.

These were "rules" that you could find in the restrooms of a LES restaurant.
(A restaurant that only accepts American Express mind you.)
And I know people.. I'm in the "singles" arena now
and I should probably appreciate something like this... or should I...

Cock Block or Mature Drinking Environment?
Both sound terrible.

Now everything looks pretty standard..
up until "Do Not Wet the Floor."

So you're telling me I can't piss on the floor, there is absolutely NO CHANCE
of getting hit on and I am prohibited from blacking out and drunk dialing
a dozen of my closest ex boyfriends therefore making a complete ass of myself?
Because you're taking all the fun out of a casual night out for me.

Pinterest has warped my mind.

You know when you were little and you would
cut out photos from magazines and maybe you pin them
up on your cork board... or put them in a binder of your favorite things.

My friends and I would constantly be making collages.
That was like the COOLEST thing ever.
My friend Ashley was the queen of collages.

So now I'm all grown up and I have Pinterest.

Pinerest is basically a virtual inspiration board.
You can basically "pin" anything that inspires you on the web.
It's great and I'm officially addicted (thank you very much Amanda).

Lately I've been spending my days on this site
getting so inspired by all of these images.

The problem is, though...
I just moved to New York and all of a sudden I'm getting
so inspired by these interior shots of houses and
now all I want to do is basically get married and have
someone build me my dream house.

But can you blame me?

This would be my ULTIMATE kitchen.

This guy is a little much but I love the exterior materials.

I love nooks.
My house must have cozy nooks.

I would die for barn doors in my house.

... and I want a huge, masculine, beautiful front door.

Hate the brick.. love the door.

I've always been attracted to heavy masculine old doors.  Just love.

Just like my clothing I love the balance of
masculine and feminine design.
Shabby chic meets sleek and sophisticated.
Light in color, dark in wood.
I love the New England, natural wood,
log cabin aesthetic.
It gives me butterflies just thinking about it.

So, anyone out there want to make this happen for me?

I'm becoming a fashion "normy"

My favorite time of year when I worked
Neimans was when the cashmere sweaters rolled in..
which was usually around July/August.

Now that I've been out of the retail world for
over a month I'm starting to accept fashion at a "normy" level.
Meaning.. it's finally getting a little chilly out so NOW
I am finally thinking about cashmere sweaters!

I really like this one.
I love the clean lines, the texture and the print.
I just want to cuddle right up in it!
I want to be in you...

This morning Kathie Lee
was just wearing this one from Vince that I love..

Too bad camel does nothing for my complexion.

My Music

Stevie Nicks

Going through a break up is really difficult.
To cope, I'm doing what most people do which is turning to music.
Music really sets the tone for my day, life, artwork and environments.

This is what I listen to to remind myself of.. myself..
if that makes sense.
They don't remind me of anyone, they just inspire me.

These alternative.. folk.. rock bands just sum up my lifestyle.
A little bit of whimsy with a little bit of an edge.

Folk Song (Album Version)

I just wanted to share.

Harriet Wheeler and David Gavurin of The Sundays

She & Him

Fleetwood Mac

Andrew Bird

What do they all have in common?

A folk sound.
Nostalgia toward my single life.
.. and amazing bangs.

Am I turning into a WASP?

Or is the unemployment getting to me...

me:  ive realized today that i drink probably 2-4 bottles of wine during the week days
 Erica:  nothing wrong with that
me:  like i think Gilo might think i have an alcohol problem
Erica:  its just wine, its not vodka
 me:  i love your logic

The Man Post: The Ultimate Icon

Daniel Craig for Omega

I can't think of anyone more masculine, more sexy
and more put together than Daniel Craig.

I know this is suppose to be about fashion.. but I just love this photo.

He's the f*cking man.
Follow his footsteps boys!

That is all.

Best Friend

Today is my Best Friend Erica Nordberg's

From day 1 of working at a place that shall not be named,
we were referred to as The Bobbsey Twins.
Of course it was told to us by an old person so we just
giggled and agreed and had no idea what they were talking about.

(which now I am offended because I
looked it up and one of the twins is a boy)

Erica and I were definitely brought together by fate..
that, or a guitar strap.  Either way the stars aligned about 6 years ago
and my life hasn't been the same ever since.

Erica is a Libra which means she is kind, fair and
optimistic to the point where you want to kick her in the shins
JUST to see how she could turn that into a good thing.

For this special day I am going to present to you,
the public, a photo montage of our friendship starting from the beginning.

Please forgive me E.

Thank you Erica for being the most
amazing and reliable friend.
You are intelligent and more importantly
you are attractive.

May we have many more memories together!
Cheers! ... and by cheers I mean let's get on Skype and
and finish a bottle of wine.

I love you.

PS... get you hair cut like that again... you looked like a rockstar.
