Day 3 had a last minute change.
Yesterday was a surprisingly emotional day with it being
the one year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. I use
the word surprisingly because every time I watched a recap on TV
I expected to just watch it, reflect and move along with my day.
Instead I found myself immediately welling up with tears while
experiencing an overload of emotions. Emotions both happy and sad.
Sad of course for the lives lost and lives that were horrifically
altered on that day, and happy to see everyone from back home
coming together and supporting each other. I just feel so happy and
proud of the people who will be running, attending and supporting
the marathon on Monday.
I think the marathon taking place at the first sign of Spring
is pretty symbolic. Just as the flowers start to come out and the sun
moves its way back into our lives. With spring comes renewal and
growth. Boston is doing a beautiful job of growing from this experience
and moving forward stronger than ever. We reflect and appreciate the
people in our lives and build a stronger foundation and appreciation.
Good luck to everyone participating!
As always, my heart and mind will be with you Boston!
