Pretty Diesel

So after work yesterday I got ready to go to what I thought was maybe a new bar.. to see a few of my friends play some music.. and ended up at the Diesel store on Newbury.

They hosted two bands last night.. with free booze.. it was pretty friggin sweet.

Who wears short shorts! This kid does.
Loved him.

The mood of the night was pretty chill and everyone was just hangin out.
The industrial look of the store was the perfect stage for an intimate acoustic show.
The guys did a great job and I was on my way to drunk town after a beer and a half...
What.. I'm a cheap date.

Tower and the Fool started the night..

... and we ended with Early Morning Blues.

Both bands are extremely talented.  I'm a huge fan of these boys and I'm telling you to check them out.
So do it.

So when the music stopped and everyone started to disperse like cockroaches.. Nicole and I found ourselves at Starbucks.. where I found this little angel.

Tessa
Isn't she a little Tim Burton meets Rene Magritte dream.
Contact me if you're reading this.. I may have an opportunity for you.

Anyways.. great night.. awesome people.. and drinks that got the job done.

We ended our night at Tapeo with some sangria and tapas.
You're jealous.

See ya Monday!

Crazy Town's 80's Track Meet

Today's overall look was inspired by Miss Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells.

So today I was stumped on what to post...
So naturally I decided that posing with a phallic object made sense.
Normal.

Then things took a turn to Crazy Town... 80's track meet style...

Aaaaaaaaand she hurdles over her first set of phallic objects!

Then next is.... the long jump?

..and then what looks like a DDR dance off??

Things needed to CALM THE EF DOWN!

top: Diesel
blazer: Twenty8Twelve
jeans: Helmut Lang
shoes: Converse

I hope you enjoyed today's 80's Track Meet Phallic Phun Hour!
Have a great Thursday everyone!!

Birdcages, Lanterns and Floral Give Me Butterflies

I love creating little wonderlands within my living space and dining areas..

Birdcages, lanterns and floral (and candles) always make me feel at home.
Whenever I need to feel relaxed I have to have all of those elements around me.

M and I love eating dinner outside in the summer time. Every time we do, he helps me build my wonderland while we waited for the food to be ready.
We transform our little cinder block city backyard into a little heaven.

I hope one day my backyard is a permanent fairytale complete with twinkle lights and lanterns hanging from trees.. with a chaise lounge and an old antique table to eat dinner when it's warm out.
Sigh.

Anthropologie

My candle cage... I don't know what else you would house in it.

The flowers M brought me on our first date.
(As you can see, this is when I was a photo rookie.. i.e. the Poland Springs water bottle and my hair straightener in the frame)

The Labor Day Lobster Bake

My birthday week.. testing out the new camera.

My 25th birthday party.. first time using the camera... clearly didn't grasp the concept of focusing yet.

I think this was the interior table display that I created for my birthday..

Alto Cinco in Syracuse, NY.

Now this is what I have in mind for my own backyard one day...

Patricia Urquiola

I would make this thing whether proof and I would sit it under a big tree with Spanish Moss.
(In this fantasy every bird knows not to do its business on this chaise lounge)

This set is beautiful.. by Patricia Urquiola

I love these images that I found on The Someday Blog.

I love the shabby chic picnic tables.. with the lanterns of course.

These Egyptian Ceramic Lanterns are beautiful.

... and everything would come together in an environment like this one.
Sigh.
