The most important Holiday

... is just around the corner!

I take Halloween very seriously.

I mean I love Halloween so much that I've taken
it out of it's month of October on many occasions!

ie: Halloween in April

Grandma & Dead Ballerina

Dance Party

And who could forget the shit show that was my
Freaky Friday the 13th Halloween in July 22nd Birthday Bash??

I was "Magical".... until I jumped in the pool.
I would have included shots of everyone
however I think my friends would disown me,
or lose their jobs.... and their dignity.

Needless to say, my friends and I excel at this holiday.
The past few years our costumes have been quite competitive.

Candy Corn & Scrabble 2009
Cheer Bear, Dora and Olive Oil 2010

Details! Details! Details!

So the question is..
What will I be this year?

My friend Dobis and I were suppose to be
East Coast and West Coast Ke$ha.

However that involves me investing money that
I don't have in a wig, stunnah shades and some skank shorts.
Or, like my brilliant friend Erica suggested,
I could simply just wear a trash bag.

But last night I had a great money saving idea to be Patch from 101 Dalmatians!
I could wear my Phillip Lim Dalmatian print dress with my
studded polka dot Guiseppe Zanotti pumps..
All I would have to buy would be ears, a collar and dog bone.

Decisions, decisions.

My options are quite similar here, which makes it more difficult.
Between Ke$ha and a dog, they both smell, pee outside and drink out of a toilet.
Ugh! I don't know guys! Help me out!

The Rivalry

I'm not embarrassed to say that I still sleep
with a stuffed animal... his name is Buddy Bear.
Now Buddy Bear has a little bit of a back story..
In my head Buddy is gay.. in his mid 40's and
in the summers he'll occasionally sneak away to P Town
for a few days... you know.. the norm.
And his butt use to smell like lavender.
(he was an aromatherapy bear in his prime)

Well for some reason my roommate has had a
rivalry with my cuddly companion and it all started
with this photo that she took of him.

Yes.. she put him in this scandalous position
and captured it on film!

I left him in NY last weekend and received a text message saying
"I think something happened to Buddy Bear. Oops."
And came home to find this!

So last night I had guests staying at my apartment
and my loving roommate told me I could stay in her
room while she was away for the week/weekend.
Immediately after she sweetly offered she squinted and said..
"but he's not allowed in my room."

I accepted with a smile and when she left...
I sent her these.

Doing work.

Stretching.

Just lounging around.
Um.......... ya know..

And then after I sent those...
I took these.

What... he got tired.

The Man Post: Get suited up for Fall

So when Mother Nature decides to get her
shit together so we can start experiencing some
real New England style Fall weather you boys
should be well equipped with Fall's favorite fabrics.

Flannel & Corduroy

Personally, I love the lumberjack look.
And I love that it's trending right now!
Like look at this guy.

GANT

Hi! I love you.
I mean... he can really pull of a mean
Canadian Tuxedo.

I love this jacket...
Well it looks more like a "shackardigan."
Those of you who don't speak Taryn that is a
shirt, jacket, cardigan hybrid.
An Outerwear Mutt if you will.
Either way, I love it.

GANT RUGGER Lambswool Check Jacket $298

GANT has some great flannels but
if you don't want to break the bank...
ugh I hate when people say that.. redo.
If you are broke as shit or a cheap ass go to
Kohls and pick up a fist full!  They're aboot
$15 a pop! Sorry my Canadian is showing.

Now onto the cords.

GANT

H&M usually has a great skinny cord
for like $20.  If you want something a little nicer
take a look at Levi's 511 Skinny Corduroy..
not super cheap but it's a pretty decent price.
$58.

If you want to go another step up
check out J.Crew's Vintage Cord line.
I love the slim fit.. but I'm sure you knew that.
$75.

And if you really want to spoil yourself
with a really nice pair of cords... Go GANT.
$168.

Home & Nature

My life is a little upside down right now.
Lots of changes... for the better.  Even though it doesn't
feel like it right now.  This weekend kind of threw me for a loop.
Anyways, I just thought these shots from the weekend
were pretty and wanted to share them with you guys.

I'm glad I got out of bed.

My favorite house in my home town.

It's grey.. it looks like it is completely made of cement..
has some cracks on its facade, it's creepy looking! I love it.
Ever since I can remember I've always wanted to capture
a photograph of it.. but I was always either in a car or didn't have
a camera on me.  Sunday, on the one morning I almost didn't get out
of bed, I decided to go for a walk with my mom and it was perfect.

The things we talk about... we just get each other.

Today in the truck while eating McDonald's:

Me: You know what I'm going to miss?

Michael: No what..

Me: Being unemployed.. It's just so easy. I can do whatever I want whenever I want at any time.. bing bang boom.

Michael: Well that's why I work for myself now.

Me: I guess I could do that too.. but it's just so much easier doing nothing.

Michael: Most people don't realize how easy they could have it. You know they sit at work surfing the interweb... Little do they know they could sit on their very own couch in their pjs, do nothing and surf the interweb.

Me: I know right? I mean look at how many people work? Maybe I should tell them about this.

Michael: Nah. They're too stubborn. They won't wanna hear it.

Me: Ya.. I guess.

Michael: You can lead a horse to water.. but you can't make him drink.

We bond mostly over made up scenarios... because when either of us talks about things that we're "passionate" about or things that matter, the other usually loses interest and stops listening.
